ZTV

Feeling evermore confident now I decided to have a go at the whole thing myself without watching the video tutorials. I also wanted to redesign the logo, so it was back to Adobe Illustrator and then editing in Cinema 4D.

This is what I came up with:

Initial Test - Softer Look

The original 5* ident had a nice soft feel to it. This I didn’t have in my initial test, so following the final part of the tutors video tutorial, I added an Ambient Occlusion Effect to it. After that I added an Area Light with a high Intensity.

Here is the finished outcome:

Initial Test

This was the ident I created following a tutorial made by the tutor. At first it felt like it was a lot to get to grips with, but once I started, everything came easily.

The outline was created in Adobe Illustrator and saved as an Illustrator 8 file, as this older versioned file format was the one Cinema 4D recognized.
It was then brought into Cinema 4D and animated.

Being slightly familiar with Cinema 4D from the past for Graphic Design purpose, I was a slight relived. It was nice to now be able to use Cinema 4D for animation purposes.

One of the major things that I learnt was the use of Effector, and how this standard built in set of features are really advanced once you know how to use then.

The object was sliced and a ‘Random’ Effector was applied to it.

Here is the finished outcome:

Inspiration - 5* Ident

For the second semester we were introduce to Cinema 4D and to familiarize myself with it, I had to create an ident similar to the one below. It is the new ident from channel ‘5Star’, stylized as ‘5*’. The ident for me looked very simple and clean and for that reason I felt it was really effective.
